Common Emergencies we see more frequently:

Pet pain is difficult to diagnose unless you are a trained professional.   Some symptoms could be panting, aggressive behavior, fast heart beat, and many others.  If your pet is acting strange you should seek medical attention for them.

* Vomiting and/or diarrhea is a common issue. Eating from the trash or eating a dead rodent can cause severe adverse conditions for our pet. A more serious disease may be diagnosed upon inspection from our doctors. If your dog or cat is vomiting or has diarrhea excessively, please contact either us or an emergency clinic.

* Dogs especially get choked on food and toys. Bones can get lodged in their throat; rawhide chews can be troublesome for some dogs too. If it is not an obstruction, choking can be very serious, as oxygen is being reduced for the animal. If choking is an issue, get your pet to us ASAP.

* Urinating problems are common in domesticated cats and dogs.  Proper diet will prevent most urinary troubles, but once they happen, it must be alleviated.  If your pet has blood in their urine, is straining to urinate, or unable to pass urine, this could be life threatening and must be addressed immediately.

* Trauma from a car or an accident while playing is very common.  A sharp blow to the head can cause a concussion and internal injuries that may go unnoticed for days. If your dog or cat has been struck by a car or in an accident, it would be wise to have us examine her for internal injuries. Better safe than sorry.

In-House pets can get poisoned in many ways you would not consider. Cleaning fluids are most common, but numerous household plants can be toxic for your pet. If your friend has induced a toxin call us 1st. We can advise you on how to take action immediately or bring him into our office.

Squinting eyes are a good indication that there is perhaps an injury to the eye.  It is recommended that if your pet is holding their eyes shut, you should contact our office or an emergency clinic. Eye issues can progressively get worse overnight.
